Pingly — Internet Speed Test (iOS)

This Privacy Policy explains how Tạ Đức Huy ("we," "us," or "our"), the developer listed on the App Store, collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use the Pingly iOS application (bundle identifier: vn.openlab.pingly) and its home screen and lock screen widgets (bundle identifier: vn.openlab.pingly.widgets) (together, the "App"). By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.
When you run a test, the App measures and records download and upload throughput, latency (ping), jitter, packet loss, the date and time of the test, and the measurement server used.
Your test history is stored locally on your device so you can compare results over time and so the widgets can display your most recent result. Deleting the App removes that history permanently, and we cannot recover it.
The App does not read your browsing history, the contents of your network traffic, the apps or websites you use, your Wi-Fi password, or any data passing through your connection. The App does not request Location Services access and does not collect precise location.
The Pingly widgets display your most recent test result on your home screen or lock screen. They read that result from storage shared with the main App on your device. The widgets do not run tests on their own, do not display ads, and do not collect or transmit any data beyond what is described in this policy.
The App is supported by advertising served by Google AdMob, which processes IP address, device and app information, coarse location derived from IP, and ad interactions.
Apple requires your permission before an app may access the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) or otherwise track you across apps and websites owned by other companies. The App shows Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt for this purpose:
Google acts as an independent controller of the data it collects through the AdMob SDK, under its own privacy policy. The App currently uses no other advertising or mediation network.
We use AppsFlyer to understand which campaign led to an install, to measure campaign performance, and to detect install fraud. AppsFlyer processes an AppsFlyer device identifier, the IDFV, IP address and the coarse country derived from it, device and OS information, install and re-engagement events, and in-app events such as completing a first test. It accesses the IDFA only if you allowed tracking. AppsFlyer acts as our processor and shares attribution results with the advertising networks that delivered the campaign.
If you allow notifications, a device token issued by Apple Push Notification service is used to deliver messages such as feature announcements. You can turn notifications off at any time in Settings > Notifications > Pingly; deleting the App invalidates the token.
We use Firebase Remote Config to enable, adjust, or test features without shipping an app update. It uses a pseudonymous app instance identifier and coarse attributes such as app version, country, and language. It does not access your test history or personal content.
If you email us, we receive your email address, the contents of your message, and any technical details you include, and use them only to respond to your request.
The App does not require account creation. We do not collect your name, email address (unless you email us), phone number, contacts, photos, files, precise location, health data, or payment information. The App contains no in-app purchases, so we never receive payment or card details.
We do not sell your personal information for money. Because we use advertising and attribution partners, some disclosures may qualify as "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law — see Section 10.

Analytics and attribution providers act as our processors and are contractually restricted from using your data for their own purposes. Google acts as an independent controller for the advertising data it collects through AdMob.
The App does not offer account creation, so there is no account to delete. Your test history lives only on your device and you can delete it yourself at any time from within the App. To request deletion of data held by our analytics and attribution providers, email huy.td@openlab.vn with the subject line "Data deletion request," including your device model and the approximate date you installed the App. We confirm receipt and complete deletion within 30 days, except for records we must retain for security, fraud prevention, or legal compliance.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including TLS encryption for the data we transmit, Apple's on-device storage protections for your test history, and data minimization — we deliberately avoid collecting names, emails, payment data, and precise location. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data using industry-standard practices and will notify you and the relevant authorities of a qualifying breach as required by applicable law.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data; to object to or restrict processing; to withdraw consent; and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise any right, contact huy.td@openlab.vn. We do not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. Because we do not hold your name or email, we may be unable to identify you from a request alone; if so, we will tell you rather than act on the wrong records.
California (CCPA/CPRA): we do not sell personal information for money. If you allow tracking, our use of advertising and attribution partners means we share identifiers and app activity for cross-context behavioral advertising as California defines it; declining Apple's tracking prompt is itself an effective opt-out. You may also email us with the subject "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information." You have the rights to know, delete, correct, and to non-discrimination. We do not knowingly share the personal information of consumers under 16.
Other U.S. states with comprehensive privacy laws (including Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, and Texas): you have similar rights of access, deletion, correction, and opt-out of targeted advertising, exercisable through the same contact address.
Vietnam: we process personal data in accordance with the Law on Personal Data Protection (Law No. 91/2025/QH15) and Decree No. 356/2025/ND-CP, including your rights to be informed, to consent and withdraw consent, and to access, correct, and delete your personal data.
The App is designed for a general audience and is intended for users aged 13 and above, or the higher minimum age required in your jurisdiction. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 where that is the applicable threshold). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact huy.td@openlab.vn and we will delete it promptly.
We are based in Vietnam, and our service providers may process data in other countries, including the United States, Israel, and the European Union. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK Addendum, and we comply with Vietnamese requirements applicable to cross-border transfers of personal data.
If we introduce user accounts, subscriptions, in-app purchases, or additional advertising networks in a future version, we will update this policy — and, where required, ask for your consent — before those features become available.
We may otherwise update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated in the App or through the App Store listing, and the "Last updated" date above will be revised. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
