Internet Speed Test for iPhone and iPad

Pingly measures your internet connection and shows four things: download speed, upload speed, latency (ping), and jitter. Results are saved on your device so you can compare them over time, and a widget can show your latest result on the home or lock screen. The app is free, supported by ads, and needs no account.
Usually not. Advertised speeds are the maximum the line can carry under ideal conditions, measured at the router. What Pingly measures is what actually reaches your device at that moment, which is affected by Wi-Fi signal strength, walls and distance from the router, interference from neighbouring networks, other devices using the same connection, your device's Wi-Fi hardware, and congestion anywhere along the route. A gap of 30–50% over Wi-Fi is common and not by itself a sign of a problem.
Network conditions change second to second. Variation of 10–20% between consecutive tests is normal. If you see swings much larger than that, it often points to Wi-Fi interference or a device saturating the connection in the background.
Yes. A speed test works by transferring real data, so it consumes from your plan — on a fast connection a single test can use a noticeable amount. On a limited, metered, or roaming plan, we recommend testing over Wi-Fi.
Pingly is not a certified measurement tool, and results are not intended as evidence in a billing dispute or regulatory complaint. They are useful for spotting patterns — for example, consistently slow evenings across many tests — which you can then raise with your provider, who will run their own certified measurement.
Widgets are refreshed by iOS on its own schedule to save battery, so the value can lag behind. Opening Pingly and running a test updates it. If it stays stale, remove the widget and add it again.
Your history is stored only on your device — we never receive it. Delete individual results by swiping on them in the History screen, or clear everything from Settings → Clear history inside the app. Deleting the app removes all of it permanently.
That is Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. Allowing it lets our advertising partner show ads that are more relevant, which helps keep the app free. Declining changes nothing about how the app works — you still get every feature, and ads still appear, just less targeted. You can change your answer any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
Not currently. Pingly has no in-app purchases or subscriptions. Ads are what pay for the app and its measurement traffic.
iOS Settings → Notifications → Pingly, and switch off Allow Notifications.
No. Pingly measures how fast your connection is, not what travels over it. It does not read your browsing history, the contents of your traffic, the apps or sites you use, or your Wi-Fi password, and it does not request Location Services access. Full detail is in the Privacy Policy.
Check that you have a working connection by opening any website, then close and reopen Pingly. If it persists, note your device model, iOS version, whether you were on Wi-Fi or cellular, and email us — that combination is usually enough for us to reproduce it.
